Loving everything about their new album It Culls You. Sounds a lot like Radiohead but sexier. And apparantly I’m not the only one who thinks so…

Pitchfork hated Childish Gambino’s Camp. I can tell by how they think it is:
“…preposterously self-obsessed, but not the least bit self-aware. Tell me that ain’t insecure.”
What can I say? Hype’ll get to ya sometimes.
Tallahassee’s poignant Minor Blues III synced up with..well…we will let this one speak for itself.
“When we all live in space you will be happy that Tallahassee prepared you for the ins and outs of interplanetary combat”

Last night WMVL Radio re-christened the Damman Pitt with a bumpin’, albeit rather intimate, performance from Boston based Alt-Country band Tallahassee. Things I loved in no particular order—
- Interviewing Scott on-air! Those who tuned in got some very cool tidbits; we now know that Time is Scott’s favorite song to play in front of a live audience and that he digs Taylor Swift.
- Actually getting to see Time performed live. Definitely deserved the hype. The album version is pretty chill, but live was a whole other animal. They danced, they sweated, they broke that shit DOWN.
- Actually getting to listen to Taylor Swift with Scott in their big van after the show.
- How they hooked us up with lots of free, very cool swag. Colleen and I will be fist fighting for the banjo-bear-monster tote bag (artwork by Brian) later this afternoon.
- How fauking much fun they were! All the guys (shouts to Scott, Brian, Shawn, Matt, and Abe) partied at Wicked Wolf post-performance and we got to hear all about beards, art, and empowering crystals straight from the horse’s mouth.
Aaaaaand…they actually got Mville kids to loosen up a little! Their set was super engaging and you could really see how much they love sharing their music with their audience. Charming might be the understatement of the year. I think it is safe to say they secured some new fans last night. Definitely safe—Facebook confirmed.
Loved the music; loved the vibes; loved the band.
Album review to follow!
MGMT is playing live at the Guggenheim tonight! Shame I don’t have tickets…I like MGMT. And weird Guggenheim-y things like this…

The new video for Childish Gambino’s “Bonfire” is getting lots of love on the interweb. Spooky and ambiguous in a rap-music-video sort of way.
Just wait until November 15 when the whole album drops.
Get psyched. I know I am.

tumblrbot asked: WHERE WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO VISIT ON YOUR PLANET?

Right now I am excited to check out Pete’s Candy Store in Williamsburg. I hear tell the venue is an old subway car. They have live music, trivia nights, and stiff drinks. Sassy AND intimate! While you are there, you can check out all the other hot spots in Williamsburg. There are a lot. A lot a lot.
